The new eBay app for Windows Phone 7.5 brings along some new features that make it a lot more useful and comparable to the eBay apps on other platforms. One big addition that just wasn’t possible before is the ability to do eBay searches based on barcode scans. So say you’re in a store somewhere and you’re wondering if something you see might be available on eBay for a lower price, just scan the barcode and eBay will show you search results for that product.
The new app also supports pinning certain content to your start menu for quick and direct access. You can pin searches and individual items. Pinning a search is handing if there’s something you’re consistently looking for, while pinning a specific item is very useful for monitoring bids and making an attempt to get your bid in at the last minute.
Of course the app also supports fast app switching, and even integrates with Bing searches that load product results. For example, if you do a Bing search for an Xbox 360, tap the product when it shows the results, and swipe to the “Apps” tab, you’ll see an option to search for that product on eBay.
