Despite being one of the devices announced on Windows Phone 7 launch day last month, the Dell Venue Pro hasn’t gotten much face time in front of the video camera — most of the available hands-ons date back to the launch itself, when Dell was showing off a
non-booting prototype running an early, non-release build of the platform. Well apparently the bag of secrets has been opened a bit in recent days, with blog SizzledCore getting some serious demos of the handset at a Dell media event in Singapore. The site managed to post three videos of this 1GHz-powered, QWERTY-equipped model — including an eight-minute long epic — and even in non-HD, the Venue Pro’s 4.1-inch AMOLED (Gorilla Glass-protected) display looks absolutely gorgeous.
The unit being shown off was the T-Mobile version of this device formerly known as Lightning, so the buttery-smooth transitions and animations should pretty accurately reflect the experience US consumers can expect at release (date: unknown).
UK residents can look forward to unlocked versions of this handset from both Clove and Expansys, which will cost close to $700 after tax when it goes on sale, possibly as early as next week.
