Turn-by-turn GPS navigation apps have been quite scarce on Windows Phone 7 and its growing Marketplace. This, of course, is unfortunate because it’s a handy feature to have on any smartphone platform. Unless you own a T-Mobile or AT&T branded Windows Phone, which come preloaded with TeleNav GPS or AT&T Navigator, you probably have turn-by-turn navigation on your wish list. Well, it looks like you can move CoPilot Live to the very bottom of that list, at least for the time being.
At MWC 2011, WMPoweruser learned from a CoPilot representative that they currently don’t have plans to create a product for Windows Phone 7. If there’s nothing in the pipeline at this point, outlook doesn’t look too good on seeing an app from them any time soon. Their hesitation on creating an app for WP7 is a bit strange, seeing how they’ve been rather active on Android, iOS, and even legacy Windows Mobile. We suppose it’s their loss, as they could clean up nicely before Microsoft (Bing?) and/or Nokia (Ovi Maps?) put together a compelling package.
