All Windows Phone 7 devices will have at least a 5MP camera as a hardware requirement imposed by Microsoft – OEMs can go higher though – which should offer pretty nice pictures. Add to the fact that Windows Phone 7 devices will be able to quickly capture a moment even if the device is locked and a nice viewfinder in the camera application and you must feel excited.
But when it comes to image manipulation, Windows Phone 7 will not be lacking either. Captured pictures as well as those existing on the device, taken from you Digital SLR for instance, can be enhanced using the proper tools and PicFx is a bold project which aims at exactly picture manipulation on Windows Phone 7. In it’s current state, we only see a demo of the UI and two effects but I am really looking forward to seeing more as this will most probably be a very popular application. Would you do some basic image manipulation on your device (let’s say Levels, Contrast, Colors) or do you prefer downloading to your computer and editing over there?
