We just heard from one manufacturer about how it chooses to produce smartphones in the colors it does, so it’s only fitting that we’re continuing to look at new color options now. Back when AT&T first announced its release plans for the Nokia Lumia 900, it explained that the black and cyan versions of the handset would be the first to be released, with a white option to follow later. Well, we’ve seen those first two arrive, no problem, and the white 900 was supposed to come out this weekend, on Sunday. Instead, it looks like AT&T may be getting ahead of itself a little, as today there are reports of the white 900 already making it into the hands of customers.
We’re not sure just how official this is, or if we’re dealing with some rogue employees here, but there’s definitely been at least some success for Nokia fans trying to buy one of the new models. Based on the pictures we’ve seen documenting some of these purchases, with AT&T workers smiling for the camera, this might actually be carrier-sanctioned, after all.
Beyond this white version of the Lumia 900, we’ve also seen some evidence supporting the existence of a Magenta model; we’ve yet to get a sense of when AT&T might make that one available.
Update: Some customers are being told that they’ll still have to wait until Sunday to buy a white 900.
Update 2: Oddly enough, it looks like the original source of these images may have been Nokia itself. North American President Chris Weber tweeted both pics earlier today.
