After Microsoft last updated its Windows Phone 7 update schedule, it looked like the HTC Surround, LG Quantum, and Samsung Focus on AT&T might be getting their shots of NoDo this month; we had estimated that they could all go out around the week of April 20. A leaked email, purportedly an insider AT&T document, sheds some new light on the scheduling, and it’s a mix of good and bad news.
Good news first: it looks like the Quantum and Focus will fulfill our prediction, rumored to get their updates on April 19. Both the pre-NoDo and NoDo proper will be going out all at once to these smartphones. Once you get an notice that the updates are ready, you’ll be able to plug your phone in and get them both through the Zune software.
The bad news? Leaving out the HTC Surround was no typo; according to this source, the Surround will be NoDo-less up until the middle of May. There’s no indication given as to why things might be taking so long for that model, but it looks like it will be cursed to be the last WP7 device to get its updates in the US.
