We heard a while back that the co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak, was lining up for a Nokia Lumia back when it was originally released, and now he lets everyone know what he thinks about it in an interview from aNewDomain. Here are a few good quotes:

At one point there was an interpretation that the Nokia Lumia 900 was actually Steve Wozniak’s favorite phone out of the 4 he carries (including 2 iPhones and a Droid Razrr), but later he corrected this in the comments at aNewDomain:
Wrong. iPhone is my favorite phone. I did give my opinion that the Windows 7P phone had superior visual appearance and operation cues that were also more attractive. In my opinion, it sets the mark for user interface. I would recommend it over my Android phones given that it doesn’t yet have the breadth of apps. I surmise that Microsoft hired someone from Apple and put money into having a role in the UI and appearance of some key apps. I also surmised that Steve Jobs might have been reincarnated at MS due to a lot of what I see and feel with this phone making me think of a lot of great Apple things.
That comment kind of gives a lot of credit to Apple though as if anyone with any sense of creativity and user interface design innovation must have previously worked at Apple. I’m sure there are other creative people that exist in the world, but the point is that the Woz does believe that Microsoft has indeed put out a great product and may be turning around its image of having no-style and only copying others’ work.
