We all know the standard battery icons on Windows Phone 6.5 but not being able to display accurate information – and we’re talking percentage here – is one of their deficiencies.
A new battery icon concept was put together which replaces the original ones (on stock ROMs of course) and fixes the aspect problem many had when trying out custom percentage battery icons that would display the juice left as small percentages above the battery icon.
The new icons are circular, pretty much like a pie chart, with the percentage of battery left being displayed in the circle itself. The more power your device drains, the left pies the chart will display and the lower number of percentage will be displayed following basic logic.
To install, download two files: SdkCerts.cab and the circular battery mod itself. Install the SdkCerts first and then the mod (both go to Device) and perform a Soft Reset. To revert to the original icons, just uninstall the mod and Restart. The icons were tested on the HD2 but they should work on any WVGA/VGA Windows Phone 6.5 device.
