Clock

  • Change Your Clock to Analogue
    • This is one of those features of Windows Mobile that you have to stumble across by accident to find. This only works for touchscreen devices. If you tap and hold the digital clock in the top bar, you can change it to a little analogue clock, as seen below, which will display in all programs if you have the setting for this turned on.
    • If your clock isn't showing all the time and you want it to, go to Start > Settings > System > Clock & Alarms. Go to the third tab that says "More" and check the box that says "Display clock on the title bar in all programs."

  • How to Customize Default Alarm Behavior
    • Windows Mobile Professional default alarm sounds can be indeed changed, as well as the other accompanying actions you device will take at the given time and schedule.
    • In order to change the defaul script (Sounds, Repeat the Sound, Flash light and vibrate), open up your alarm by either going to Start, Settings, System, Clock & Alarms or tap directly on the clock on the homescreen. This will bring up the Clock control panel, where you need to tap on the Alarms tab. While there, make sure you tap on the Bell icon and that will take you to another menu. Here you can customize the alarm sound from those existing on your device and customize the other settings. You can do this to each of the three alarms so that you can have different scripts (different sounds, vibration, light) for different alarms.

Email

  • See More Email in Outlook Mobile
    • By default, Outlook Mobile will synchronize three days worth of email. You actually have the option to see much more. I like to have about a week's worth of email stored in my Inbox.
    • To change this for Exchange, go to Start>Programs>ActiveSync. Then, go Menu>Options. Select Email and hit Settings. The top field lets you specify how far to go back. This works in all versions of Windows Mobile.
    • For IMAP or POP accounts, open the messaging app, go Menu>Tools> Options. Then tap the name of the account you want to change.
    • After that, tap "Send/Receive Schedule" (on some phones older than WM 6.1, it will go to an email account setup wizard in which you have to go through by tapping "next" in order to find the schedule dialog). Finally, you'll see the "Download messages" pop up menu with choices for how many days worth of messages you want to download.

Text/Texting

  • How to Make Custom Pre-Made Text Messages
    • If you text message a lot, this video may provide a valuable tip for you. In Windows Mobile, you can save time texting by entering pre-made text messages. This works in both versions of WinMo.
  • Improve PDF Readability
    • Opening a PDF document from within Adobe Reader LE and zooming in for better reading will have your text go outside your screen, needing you to scroll in order to read the entire text. There’s a feature in Adobe Reader LE called Reflow which will wrap your text in order to maintain maximum readability, so that your paragraphs no longer overlap your screen. You can access it from within Adobe Reader LE, going to Tools > View > Reflow.
