Blackjack I: Improved Performance

- Two of the menus require a password, it is *#81230#. This is handy as the Network and Call settings menu enables you to force it off 3G if you should so choose.
- Hard reset the phone by holding down UP and POWER to boot. It will ask to confirm.
- You can adjust the brightness of the screen in Settings under Power (scroll down)
- Pressing and holding the Home button brings up the task manager
- Pressing and holding the jog dial brings up a list of apps
- Pressing the power button brings up the quicklist
- Hold down message key to turn off backlight on screen.
- Fn + B = Toggle Bluetooth
- Press the V key for PAGE DOWN and the T key for PAGE UP.
- Hold down any key while typing to get its “alternate” character. i.e. Hold down the Q for a moment and you’ll get the + symbol. This is nice if you don’t like hitting Caps/Shift Q to get it.
- if you are reading an email, press the center d-pad “action” button… it will take you to the new contact entry with that persons email address already filled in.
- Apparently the phone doesn’t support automatic keylock, you have to hold down the “end call” key for 3-4 seconds and it locks the phone.
- When you have a URL in the address bar hold down the BACK button above the red hang up button and it will delete the entire URL.
- In any of the edit fields (contacts, I.E., and others) if you hold down Undo (top right U-Turn with an arrow) it will delete the contents of the field you are in.
- Holding down the back button on the right hand edge of the device launches the Camera app for taking pictures.

- Holding down the Home key brings up the Task Manager. Helps to quickly close down resource hogging applications.
- Holding down the End Call button will lock the device. Much quicker than pushing the on/off button, scrolling to Lock, and then selecting it.
- When typing, holding down a key for a couple seconds will type the correspoding function key. Equivalent to hitting the Fn key and then the letter key. For example the key for E is also the key for 3. Hit the key once and you get E. Hold the key and you get 3.
- When held down, the space bar brings up 4 screens of symbols including some smileys. Among them are < > \ | { } [ ] which aren't found on the keyboard.
- Hold the fn key and use the scroll wheel to scroll left or right instead of up or down
- Limiting the automatic email updates from every 30 minutes as opposed to every 5 minutes helps conserve battery

- Improves scrollwheel
- After upgrade it, go to setting>key settings>wheel key speed and set it to high. It will now speed up the scroll wheel noticeably comfortable speed.

Using google maps on Blackjack 2
In some versions of the device google maps can not use the gps even if it is unlocked. A workaround is to activate the phones gps using microsoft live search application first and after it has found the gps signal activate google maps and it should find the signal as well.
