Following the release of webOS 2.1.0 for the Palm Pre 2 a few weeks ago, Palm has now expanded their update rollout to include unlocked Pre 2 devices. The update is being pushed out over-the-air and notifies the user via a message from Palm services.
The update adds two major features to the OS: Exhibition Mode and Voice Dial. Exhibition mode works with the Touchstone charging accessory, keeping the display on while “docked” to the wireless charging pad. The time, photos, and agenda apps are currently supported. Exhibition mode also allows you to search the app catalog for more compatible applications. Voice dialing is fairly straightforward, allowing you to place a call to any contact on your list by holding a volume key and speaking their name.
The update is available now from the “Updates” application and will download over-the-air to the device.
