We’re presumably inching closer to the release of new WebOS products under the HP brand, but how will HP brand the platform? The label “HP WebOS” was spotted, then removed, from an entry in the Palm Developer Center. The removal could have been due to error, or because HP wants to officially announce the rebranding of HP WebOS in a more official way than a mere leak.

This begs the question: how should HP brand WebOS? Should they drop the “Palm” totally? Doing so could imply a fresh start, but they’d also be parting with a lot of fantastic brand equity. Here are a few possibilities for the rebranding of WebOS, and we’re curious to hear which you favor (or if you have a better idea):
- HP WebOS
- Palm WebOS by HP
- HP Palm WebOS
- WebOS by HP
- HP WebOS Powered by Palm
What say you?
