Video: Android on a Verizon XV6900 Touch

Earlier today we posted a story about Android running on an HTC Vogue thanks to the guys at XDA-Developers. Well, I couldn’t wait to try it out, so here it is on the Verizon XV6900, and it works…kind of. While the phone application works and so do most of the applications, there are still several bugs that will cause you to have to reboot the phone. One of the biggest bugs is that once the screen shuts off after inactivity, it doesn’t always go back on.

One of the coolest aspects of this is that Android is running off of your storage card on top of Windows Mobile, so you can always get back to WinMo by soft resetting. So, if you’re brave (and bored), download these files, place them on your storage card, run the EXE, then hit Run again. Note that within the thread over at XDA, they’ve posted tons more info on this (via 241 pages worth of posts), plus how to get an on screen keyboard working.
