XDA Developers figured out a new way to Soft Reset – more like a workaround – the HTC Touch HD, which is known to have a usability design flaw by having its Soft Reset button inaccessible, below the battery cover.

All you need is some skills to drill a tiny hole into the battery cover at the back of your device which should be perfectly alligned with the Soft Reset button and from there on, your hardware Soft Resets will be a lot easier.
