SMS Keyboard Lag Fix!

For those rocking a Touch Pro, you’ll be happy to hear that there's a fix for the dreadful SMS keyboard lag. A member on PPCgeeks, bradyonly, has figured out how to eliminate the lag when sending out texts on the Touch Pro. Who knew deleting one word from a file would be so rewarding? However, the price you have to pay for lag free texting is that you lose the character count feature, which is a small price to pay for speedy typists.

Quick tutorial:

- open your windows folder with Total Commander
- locate “thread_sms.htm,” hit file, and then go to edit
- find the word “count,” as shown in the screenshot below, and delete it
- save, exit and soft reset your phone
- enjoy lag free texting!

Note: If something goes wrong, just delete “thread_sms.htm” and the original file will be recreated by Windows Mobile upon soft reset. Also, some would recommend backing up your device before attempting any type of file edits.
