HTC Sense / TouchFLO 3D 2.5 Gains Landscape Mode

Rotastrain, over at XDA-developers, has released another fantastic hack for HTC Sense, formerly labeled TouchFLO 3D 2.5. This time, he’s somehow managed to add landscape support for the popular UI. Users of Sense have been waiting a long time for landscape to make it into the mix; some even avoid using 2.5 due to lack of landscape support. Previously, sliding out the hardware keyboard on the Touch Pro2 would render the interface useless. This is no longer the case as the landscape hack has been released for the Touch Pro2.

While it’s not perfect, it is usable. You will find occasional glitching and some tabs don’t look right (off-centered), but this is only the first release. The best part is that you can install it easily with a few CAB files. I’ve quickly tested it and landscape seems to be working now. I find landscape to be quite functional, but some of the soft keys in portrait mode have been disabled. For example, the home tab soft keys and the send key in HTC messaging have to be remapped (registry fix below). It's probably dependent on the ROM, but I'd expect fixes for these issues soon. Rotastrain has provided a ROM package, so you should see this available in custom ROMs in the future. For users who want to install it on their current ROMs, head over to XDA-developers for the easily installable CAB files. It's just been released, so proceed with caution until all bugs are reported.

How to install (all files provided in the thread linked above):

1) Install MortScript 4.2 (CAB)
2) Disable HTC Sense
3) Install Rotastrain’s Landscape 2.5 (CAB)
4) Install a small registry tweak (CAB)
5) And of course, enable Sense after the soft reset

If missing, get "Send" icon back in HTC Messaging (thanks, Gooser711):

1) Disable HTC Sense
2) With a registry editor, navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila"
Change "LSK_Send_Msg" value from "1" to "0"
3) Enable HTC Sense

Notes: As a reminder, this was released on a Touch Pro2/Rhodium thread and only works for Sense 2.5. The landscape 2.5 cab is quite large in size. The hack will also change the background on all your tabs to the one pictured above.
