Easily Switch Between HTC Sense/TF3D & Mobile Shell 3.5.x

Two of the most popular Windows Mobile UIs to date are HTC Sense/TouchFLO 3D and SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.x. If you have access to both, sometimes it can be difficult to decide which interface to use on a daily basis. Some users even switch back and forth between them multiple times each week. The steps to take to disable one shell in favor of the other can become quite tedious, especially if you do it often. There’s a new tool, created by Darkness231 from PPCGeeks, which automates the process by switching from one interface to the other via a single tap of a shortcut. This means you can change UIs on the fly without having to jump through hoops.

After installing the “TF3D/Sense to Mobile Shell switcher,” a shortcut will be placed in your programs list. This makes it easy to assign the switcher as a shortcut on the home screen of both UIs. Of course, you can also map it to a hard or soft key with a little extra effort. Tapping on the program will close the running UI and switch to the other. It takes about 15 seconds to transition, but it’s more convenient than digging through menus to get the same result.

There are two versions available, one for TouchFLO 3D users and another for Sense users. Grab one or the other from PPCGeeks. Be sure to have Mobile Shell installed to device memory or it will not work. If you’re like me, you will probably find yourself switching interfaces more frequently thanks to this tool.
