Windows Phone Gets Marketing Dollars

Have you ever seen a commercial for Windows Mobile? How about a billboard, web ad, or magazine ad? Probably a few over the years, but not many in comparison to those that you see for the iPhone, BlackBerry, Palm Pre, and Android devices.

It looks like Microsoft is finally starting to get serious about marketing their smartphone platform. Ads for the rebranded “Windows Phone” platform have begun showing up on tech sites like Gizmodo and Engadget (like the one below), and there is even a TV spot going around. In addition, Windows Phone now has its own YouTube channel that will surely be used as a marketing tool. Hopefully these efforts will help to increase awareness of the Windows Phone brand so that those that purchase Windows Mobile devices become aware of the type of smartphone that it is.
