Originally slated for October 2008, the Shadow II is now getting pushed to the end of January for an official launch. The new device adds the T-Mobile WiFi @Home service for placing calls through WiFi routers to conserve cellular minutes or get better reception (albeit at an added monthly surcharge). Not much else has changed from the leaked specs available on the device as it seems that EDGE is still the top speed the device can handle.
For advanced users, this is not a compelling or recommended upgrade, but if priced competitively, the Shadow II will introduce new users into the smartphone fray.
WMPowerUser lists the specs as:
-Wi-FiÂ…including @home
-Large, 2.6 in screen
-20 key slide out keyboard with spin wheel navigation
-Windows Mobile 6.1
-Myfaves 1.5
-Work and personal email
-Instant Messaging
-Mini-usb SD expandable slot (4gb max)
-Bluetooth 2.0
-Html Web browsing
-EDGE/GPRS
-T-zones/web2go
-T-mobile address book
-Microsoft Office and Onenote
-Enhanced device help
