Powered On, Sound Off: Did iPhone Steal Fame From Developer Partners?

In the first installment of Powered On, Sound Off, we debated about who was responsible for the HTC drivers debacle. Now, we are focusing on Apple and the claim to fame for features.
With the new SDK recently announced by Apple along with the new integration of Microsoft Exchange support, internet communities have been reporting on the new evolutionary features of the iPhone. Keen eyes at Engadget Mobile as well as other web communities have been spotting the new search function in the form a magnifying glass right above the letter strip in the contacts application. However, none of the internet communities made mention of how this may be a function of the integration of Microsoft function; rather, these sites just mention it as an Apple update.
While I don't know who is responsible for the big feature of contact searching on Apple's iconic product, I have an inkling that this may be Read on...
