According to an article on MSN Money, financial firm Cowen rated Palm with an outperform rating, noting Windows Mobile and the forthcoming linux-based Palm OS (not the one developed by Access) as reasons for Palm’s rise.
Palm had once been the darling of the PDA community in the nineties and is starting to regain a bit of ground that it has lost with the Treo Pro. I don’t know how much a new operating system will contribute to Palm’s future success, but the firm has definitely made a move in the right direction focusing on hardware. It’s a shame though that with the Treo Pro’s good looks, Palm is mainly focusing on the enterprise market and not partnering up with a carrier in the US to release the device to a wider prosumer or consumer audience.
