Gizmodo has it on the rumor mill that everyone’s favorite electronic ebook reader is getting a re-design this fall. Arriving just in time for the holiday shopping season, the Amazon Kindle will be coming in Kindle 2.0 form. No details are known at this time, although Gizmodo is speculating a thinner design and more color options.
Hopefully this time around Amazon will have enough stock and improve production. When the first Kindle was released, people waited months to get their grubby paws on one as the item was routinely found out of stock.
The Kindle is a revolutionary product in that it allowed users to wirelessly purchase ebooks without needing a cellular subscription. Other ebook devices required users to purcase the book via a connected computer and synchronize with the device. The Kindle service operates on Sprint’s EVDO network.
