We’ve all been waiting for the HD2 to arrive and all of the reviewers agreed that this device is one of the fastest Windows Phones around at the moment. I’m personally thinking of the HD2 as the number one Windows Phone ever released to date but leaving the personal judgements aside, I am even more delighted to see HTC is working on improving the speed of what I perceive as a device there’s no need tweaking performance wise.
Most of the HD2s have been released with initial versions of 1.43 ROMs, then came the official 1.48 ROM update after which we saw a new ROM surfacing, version 1.61. According to the benchmarks, the HD2 improves with each and every newer version of official ROMs released. The increase in performance averages 5% from version to version with an almost 10% (8.5% to be more precise) performance improvement from 1.43 to 1.61.
