HTC HD2: Five Big Surprises

HTC couldn’t keep the HD2 a secret. We’ve been talking about it for many months now, and what seemed like a fantasy phone was made real today. What’s more, we found out new things about the Touch HD2 that makes it even more incredible that we didn’t know prior to this day. Click on…

1. The device has an insane 448MB of RAM, instead of 320MB as normally thought. This, plus the 1GHz Snapdragon CPU will make the HD2 an extremely fast device. The video below gives you a sense of this

2. There’s a program installed that lets the device act as a WiFi hotspot, similar to MiFi found on various CDMA carriers

3. The HD2 has a “polite ringer” function. If the device is on a table and it rings and you tilt the phone up to see who is calling, the ringer will quiet down. It still has the etiquette mode where the ringer will silence if you turn the phone on its face

4. There will be an optional in-car navigation accessory for the HD2 that charges the device in the cradle without you having to physically connect a cable to the phone using a special battery cover

5. In Q1 2010, the HD2 is coming to the United States! It’s quite rare for a new HTC device to make its way stateside in such a short period of time
