We thought it’d be fun and interesting to do a tour of our home offices–you know, where we film videos and write posts for pocketnow.com. Three of us decided to give you an inside look into our work spaces. Take a look at the below videos for a behind-the-scenes look at Geoff, Joe, and my office. Let us know in the comments if you enjoyed this segment (or if you hated it) so we can know whether to plan additional ones in the future! Update: we’ve added Anton Nagy’s office tour below.
My office is just a converted second bedroom in my apartment. I spend my time staring at the pixels of my monitors, which is comprised of two Dell 2408WFP (which have great 1920×1200 resolution), and a vertically-oriented 20″ Dell monitor. Beyond that, I built my computer about three years ago. It’s an overclocked Core2Duo rig with 4GB of RAM and a SSD. Nothing terribly fancy, but it does the trick.
Joe’s workspace is powered by a home server that only uses 100 watts of power, even though it’s running with four cores and a ton of storage space. In the tour Joe talks about he scored very low cost VoIP service through a wholesaler called Les. Then he shows us a Logitech DiNovo Mini which he uses to control the server’s output to his flat panel television in the living room.
Geoff gives us a glimpse of his VoIP setup, which comes from the cable company. We then get a look at this MacBook Pro with external monitor which is all backed up (more than once) with his array of storage space. The video concludes in his entertainment area where he has the new Xbox 360 connected to a plasma.
