A New Reason to Look Forward to Fennec

Remember Fennec? It’s Firefox mobile from Mozilla that will give mobile devices a new browser choice (though Windows Mobile will still have the most amount of choices). We did a tour of Fennec Alpha a few weeks ago, and found it to be promising (albeit very unstable in its early release form).

The promise of Fennec is that it will bring the Firefox experience to mobile devices – great tab management, the ability to use add-ons to customize your browsing experience, and so on.

We have another reason to be excited for Fennec: WMExperts is reporting that it will sync tabs. What does this mean? Right now, I have about eight tabs open – and you probably have a handful open as well. If I were running Fennec on my mobile device, I could “see” which tabs my desktop has open, and selectively choose which ones to load. Why is this beneficial? You could queue up several news articles that you want to read, leave your computer, and read the articles on the subway or on your way to work via Fennec. Neat.
