A Full Analysis of HTC 2009 Leak

Let's try to hit on all of these devices - thanks to Windows Mobile Cool for the image. Note that because this is a leak, all of this could be conceptual stuff that will never make it to the end user. That said, we've seen leaks like this in the past from HTC that turned out to be the real deal. Worst case is probably that a third or so of these devices never see the light of day. Click the below image to see the larger version (better yet, control click it to open in new tab, and follow along with us).

Iolite: We've seen this before. In fact, eXpansys has it on preorder. Looks like a touchscreen WinMo device with a QVGA screen. Blah.

Rhodium
: With a long screen and no D-Pad, this could be the Touch HD Pro we were hoping for.

Twin: Similar to the Iolite, this looks like a somewhat entry level device.

Maple: This could be the proper successor to the T-Mobile Dash, hopefully a step up from the Cavalier.

Topaz: Chuong already went over this device, citing it to be somewhat of a Touch HD "mini." The faceted backing implies that it actually may be of the Touch Diamond series.

Barium: The AT&T version of the Rhodium, which Chuong already wrote about.

Tungsten: T-Mobile version of the Rhodium (sweet!)

Other Rhodium variants seem to be lined up for all US carriers.

Willow W: A Sprint version of the next-generation Dash, perhaps.

Cedar W: With an off-center space bar and a pastel blue case, we hope this is some sort of low-end messaging device.

Beryl: The successor to the Touch 3G midrange.

Firestone
: A variation of the Blackstone, or Touch HD as we know it. Looks to add additional hardware buttons, plus a very squarish design.

Whitestone W
: An entertainment-centric device.

Thoth: The successor to the Athena.

Magnet: The successor to the Iolite, which sports a strange off-center D-Pad, and an even strange "i" button below the call start/end keys.

Saphhire: A Vodafone device which may sport a WVGA screen plus BlackBerry-like navigation ball. It also has a "chin" which may imply this to be Android based.

Sapphire 1.5: A white version of the original.

Jasper C: The chin is in! This also could be an Android device.

Well that's it. The Rhodium looks hot - what are you drooling over?

Again, very little info is known about this lineup - which ones will actually make it in, the specs they run - heck, we're not even certain which ones are Anroid-based and which ones run WinMo. It looks like we're going to have a fantastic year of Windows Mobile hardware. That said, we should get some answers next month at the Mobile World Congress when Microsoft makes its big mobile announcement.
