WM6.5 Upgrade for Sprint Touch Pro2 Confirmed for March

Sprint’s Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade for the HTC Touch Pro2 is long overdue and many users have been getting quite irritated. Although Sprint publicly stated that it will be out by the end of Q1, TP2 owners seem to have the mindset of “I’ll believe it, when I see it.” I don’t blame them as every other carrier seems to have either launched their variant of the device with 6.5 preloaded or released an upgrade for it soon after.

Hopefully this latest posting by a PPCGeeks member will help ease the pain that comes with the waiting process. Platin465 has posted part of a Sprint business pamphlet that he recently received in the mail. It seems to confirm that the upgrade will, indeed, be available by the end of this month. The Sprint Small Business Catalog notes, “upgradeable software available in March” for WM6.5/TP2.

We already know that Verizon is working on another TP2 upgrade that will officially bring Sense 2.5 to devices other than the HTC HD2. So, hopefully, by the end of this month, Sprint TP2 users will finally get their upgrade with Sense 2.5 on-board. Anyone think Sprint will miss their targeted release? Three weeks left, start the countdown.
