Speaking of displays and screens on Windows Phone 7 Series, we were able to speak to a representative of Microsoft and learned that Windows Phone 7 Series will support 2 screen sizes and 1 aspect ratio to make it easier for developers. Of note, 800 X 480 (WVGA) will be the big screen display on Windows Phone 7 Series high end devices. Another resolution, which our representative could not recall, will also be supported as a smaller resolution. For easy scaling of games and apps, only one aspect ratio will be supported.

The lower screen resolution support seems to stem from OEM requests.
