Sprint is rebranding its fourth generation wireless network–which utilizes WiMax technology–from Xohm to Sprint 4G, a name that is more direct and makes more sense considering that current technologies are more popularly known as 3G wireless services.
Mobile Burn is reporting that Sprint will setup its 4G wireless services as an MVNO on Clearwire’s Clear WiMAX network, of which Sprint owns 51%. Sprint will offer modems for laptops that takes advantage of both 3G and 4G modes when available.
