Walmart Drops iPhone 3GS Prices Prior to WWDC

Walmart will soon be offering the iPhone 3GS for a mere $97. Although Walmart isn’t saying much except that it’s part of the company’s philosophy to offer low prices, the price drop for Apple’s current iPhone comes just head of WWDC, the event where Apple has historically announced its next-generation iPhone releases in the past. Additionally, AppleInsider is reporting that Apple may be discontinuing the Apple 3G 8 GB model that is currently being offered at $99, in which case the discounted 16 GB iPhone 3GS model would fill that sub-$100 spot.
