Vodafone is planning on buying Wayfinder, a GPS company, for the sum of $29.3 million. The Board of Directors of Wayfinder has approved the deal and is recommending that shareholders do the same, according to Unwired View
Vodafone’s acquisition of Wayfinder will hopefully lead to more GPS-integrated solutions for consumers. It will be one way for Vodafone to differentiate itself from other carriers if handsets that it offers subsidized came with a free subscription–either time-limited or unlimited–of GPS navigation software.
