Vodafone Gets Its Own Jack: Samsung Valencia C6625

For those Vodafone users who were jealous of AT&T getting the Samsung Jack, which is being released today at AT&T, CoolSmartPhone has announced that Vodafone will get its own Jack variant in the form of the Samsung C6625 Valencia (the Vodafone model is actually the C6625v, with the v for Voda).

It looks like the Valencia will get some sort of custom home screen. Vodafone UK users can order from the Vodafone page when the device hits–it is still showing as coming soon with unreleased pricing information.

The devices are similar, with the Jack on AT&T being a bit lighter. The Jack is slightly trimmer, although a bit thicker, and has twice the RAM at 256 MB and is a bit faster with a 528 MHz processor versus the 398 MHz on the Valencia. Also, the Valencia eschews the contiguous, domed keyboard that we liked so much on the Jack for spaced keys that look like the Ace, the BlackJack II competitor on Sprint in the USA. The screen is slightly larger on the Valencia, measuring 2.6-inches versus the 2.4-inch on the Jack. American users should not expect the Valencia to drop Stateside as the unit is only tri-band GSM and single-band UMTS. Our beloved Jack on the other hand is more of a globe-trotter being a quad-band GSM and tri-band HSPA model. Unlike the Jack, Vodafone’s Valencia lacks WiFi if that matters.

For a complete comparison of the two units, please see the PDAdb.net comparison.
