The latest rumors of the Touch Pro2 for Verizon Wireless pegs the Windows Mobile handset for a September 11th release date, less than a month ahead of the release of Windows Mobile 6.5. The Touch Pro2 for Big Red will launch instead with Windows Mobile 6.1 and will receive a later upgrade to 6.5. Also of note is that the Touch Pro2 for Verizon Wireless will retail for $199 after a two-year agreement, significantly less than the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 asking price of $349, though you can find the T-Mobile edition for less at retailers.
