Verizon Wireless just dropped its pricing on the HTC Touch Pro and a slew of other smartphones from their regular higher asking price to $99. Whether this is reactionary to AT&T’s 8 GB iPhone 3G pricing at the sub-$100 price is unknown, but it could mean that Big Red is looking forward to newer smartphone launches coming soon.
The original HTC-made Touch Pro went from over $400 to $99, which could mean that Verizon Wireless is hoping to clear up inventory in preparation for carrying the Touch Pro2 in CDMA iteration soon. The carrier was noticeably late in offering the original Touch Pro so an early price drop is welcomed news for its customers hoping to upgrade sooner than later to the next-generation Touch Pro2.
