Verizon Ambitious With 4G LTE Launch–All Markets At Once

Verizon Wireless is now getting a bit ambitious with its 4G rollout. The company, unlike CDMA rival Sprint, has chosen to go with LTE for its 4G protocol rather than WiMax, is now said to be planning on launching 4G in all markets at once rather than progressing through a market by market rollout. The company is said to be on track with its plans for the upgrade.

We can see up to 30 cities being lit up by Verizon Wireless at launch in 2010, which is quite impressive. 4G will operate on the 700 MHz spectrum for the carrier.

4G will have the potential to revolutionize wireless with true unlimited data. Sprint, which uses WiMax for 4G, has unlimited data plans for customers in its 4G network; on the other hand, customers are capped at 5GB of data when using its 3G EVDO CDMA network. Much like how cell phones are now replacing landlines, 4G can potentially replace wired broadband lines for many customers with its faster download speeds and upload speeds as well as unlimited data capabilities.
