Another non-American piece of news, but for those lucky UK subscribers, a route guidance service by the name of Trafficmaster hopes to make your GPS mapping easier. Instead of fumbling around with your touchscreen Windows Phone device, users can pick up the phone, call their Personal Assistant at Trafficmaster, and the live operator will calculate the route and send the information back to the phone. The user’s location is tracked and if traffic conditions change, a reroute can be dispatched to their Windows Mobile device.
The service is available as a subscription option, much like TeleNav, except with a live concierge at the other end to help you plan your POIs.
The Register reports that the service is currently limited to Windows Mobile devices only. If you live in the UK, you can also join the Trafficmaster beta program.
