The True Mobile Tablet: OneNote Mobile to Go Full Feature on Windows Mobile

If you’re big into having digital notebooks and love Microsoft’s inking technology that appears with applications like OneNote Mobile, fret not as Microsoft will bring richer synchronization capabilities to make OneNote Mobile a more fully featured program on your Windows Mobile device.

The mobile app will be included with OneNote 2010 and promises to deliver better synchronization capabilities via the web as Microsoft begins porting key features of its Office apps to web apps. The new version will be able to synchronize notebooks over the web via Windows Live and support better editing capabilities.

With the tech world being hyped with a potential Apple launch of an “iTablet” at the September media event, news of a fully functional OneNote Mobile app for Windows Mobile may in fact give the tablet computing edge back to Microsoft. Redmond’s commitment to inking technology can be found in Windows Mobile via Transcriber–a feature that converts handwriting into letters and words–and on platforms such as the Tablet PC.
