A new worm discovered on the Symbian platform–Windows Mobile are safe on this one–exploits a user’s connection and contacts list to inflect as much pain to as many users as possible. According to The Boy Genius Report, the worm polls your address book, sends your contacts a text asking them to visit an URL and then infects them once they do if they have a Symbian phone as well. It also posts information about your handset’s IMEI number and phone number to a server.
Moral of the story: Be careful of whom you allow to input you into their digital black book.
