The Samsung Jack Gets Jacked Up for Europe as the B7330

The Samsung Jack, a direct competitor to the HTC Snap and its carrier variants, will be headed to Europe as the B7330. Other than minor cosmetic changes and some keyboard variations, it looks like the European version of the Jack will get a better screen, upping the resolution to 320 X 320 pixels, a first for a non-touchscreen smartphone on Windows Mobile.

The 320 X 320 resolution has been a mainstay on Palm OS Treo devices, and the resolution started appearing on Windows Mobile touchscreen handsets at Palm’s request, making its debut on the Samsung Epix, Treo Pro, and Treo 800w. It looks like we may be kissing goodbye to QVGA screens and pre-writing the obituary for the slow death of VGA displays, the 320 X 320 square resolution kicks on, this time in non-touchscreen incarnation.

Hardware-wise, the B7330 for the European market will feature a 3-megapixel camera and run Windows Mobile 6.5 at its launch. It will also have a quad-band GSM/EDGE radio as well as European 3G support.
