The Keyboard Options of the Touch HD

File under: News

In this video, we cover the various keyboard options of the Touch HD - also known as the "device you may win" in our forum relaunch contest.

The keyboards are identical to what is included on the Touch Diamond and Pro, but because the screen is a huge 3.8" inches, the keyboards are even more usable. The first keyboard, the Phone Keypad, works quite well if you're using one hand. Then, the Compact QWERTY is best suited for longer emails and messages. And finally, the Full QWERTY seems to be the most difficult to use because it's hard to know what key you're pressing when typing fast. Unfortunately, the Touch HD won't display a landscape keyboard unless you're in Opera. Hopefully a ROM update will allow screen rotations anywhere which should have been the case from the start (though until then, you can use a program like Gyrator), so that you can use the landscape keyboard while text messaging, etc.
