T-Mobile USA to Get HTC HD2

We’ve heard that the HTC HD2 was coming to the USA early next year, but now we’re hearing rumors that the carrier to get the device will be none other than T-Mobile USA. Unfortunately, if T-Mobile does nab an exclusive on this one, it will leave the larger GSM/HSPA camp at AT&T pining for the device; even if AT&T users were able to unlock the SIM to use it on Ma Bell’s network, 3G wouldn’t work as T-Mobile and AT&T operate their 3G services under different frequencies.

The silver lining in this story? For those on T-Mobile, this will be a hot device. Executives at T-Mobile have recently admitted that the carrier was losing customers due to its lack of 3G coverage, and T-Mobile is actively trying to rectify that, lighting up more 3G markets and exploring next generation 4G technologies. Good things are coming to the carrier in magenta here in the States.

It looks like the HTC HD2 will be facing off against the HTC Pure on AT&T. I think we already know which is the real winner! Either way, consumers win with hot Windows Mobile 6.5 devices on the market.
