Although the update has since been pulled, users who were brave enough to update their MOTO CLIQ running MOTO BLUR were unfortunate enough to not be able to log into their MOTO BLUR account nor were able to activate their handsets. According to the Motorola and T-Mobile user forums, the update had incorrectly adjusted the time to December 31, 1969, and users have reported that the automatic time adjustment post-update could not be reset by the users. The time issue is causing various issues from synchronization to Android Market problems. If you have pulled the update trigger–we empathize–it is advised that you do not perform a hard reset. Here’s the official word from CLIQ sponsors–also known as T-Mobile USA and Motorola:
“Thanks everyone for informing us on what the latest Motorola Cliq OTA update has brought to light. We want to let everyone know that we have been reading your comments, and we hear you. We have forwarded your concerns to the appropriate people and are working hard on them.
As of now, we advise you not to Master Reset your phone if your OTA update did not download or if you are experiencing issues at this time.”
