While AT&T and Verizon are battling it out with commercials over “There’s a Map for That” rival T-Mobile is going a different route in the USA by offering an easy way to gift cell phones this holiday with the T-Mobile Complete package. Essentially, the “Complete” plan allows you to purchase a phone or smartphone outright–the BlackBerry Curve 8520 is offered as an option for $300–and that purchase price gives the receiver of your gift a month of service included; customers can choose from unlimited plans that start at just $50 per month.
T-Mobile is claiming that its T-Mobile Complete package will offer customers the value of post-paid (or annual contract subscriber) values in the rate plans without the commitment of an annual contract. You’ll be getting post-paid rate plan costs on a prepaid plan basically. The firm is also heralding the T-Mobile Complete as the first prepaid BlackBerry plan in the US.
We’re hoping that other smartphones get added to the Complete mix, like the higher end BlackBerry Bold 9700, T-Mobile Touch Pro2, the HTC Dash 3G, and Android offerings like the T-Mobile G1 and the myTouch 3G.
