According to Forbes.com;
“If you receive a text message on your iPhone any time after Thursday afternoon containing only a single square character, Charlie Miller would suggest you turn the device off. Quickly.”
The article goes on to explain that the SMS exploit can allow dialing the phone, visiting of Web sites, turning on the device’s camera and microphone and, most importantly, sending more text messages to further propagate a mass-gadget hijacking.
It seems that the only other mobile phone operating system affected by a variant of this vulnerability is Windows Mobile.
There has been no word from Apple or Microsoft when a patch to address this issue will be available.
