With the launch of the BlackJack, Samsung and Research in Motion got into a little tiff regarding the branding–BlackJack was too similar to BlackBerry and may confuse users. The two eventually resolved things to see the BlackJack keep its name and a version two release. Now, with the Propel Pro, can Samsung and Research in Motion get into another tiff?
The keyboard on the BlackJack Slider, formally called the Propel Pro, is strikingly ridged and similar to the BlackBerry 8800 series and the Bold. The contiguous keyboard with no spacing in between is also reminiscent of the Motorola Q9h series of devices, but the difference here is that Motorola used domed keys whereas the Engadget photos show ridges on two edges of each keys that was introduced by BlackBerry initially for use on the 8800 series.
The ridged design, according to BlackBerry at the time, is to help facilitate accuracy and typing speed in such a small area with no spaces between the keys.
