The Samsung Ace is said to be the CDMA equivalent of the BlackJack II, a Windows Mobile Standard non-touchscreen smartphone with a front-facing QWERTY keyboard. Since the BlackJack II, Samsung has released the Jack for GSM networks and it stands to reason that the Ace will also get a successor. A recent rebate sheet leaked for Sprint shows the Intrepid as that successor.
Details are scarce on the Samsung Intrepid, but we do know that it will have Windows Mobile 6.5, meaning a launch date on or after October 6. It will also have a 528 MHz processor, 512/256 ROM/RAM, QVGA non-touch display, and CDMA with GSM/EDGE for global roaming. The device will also come with WiFi.
Hopefully the Intrepid will get some styling cues from its international cousin, the Samsung B7330, which is basically a Samsung Jack for the international market.
