My brother contacted me last night about problems he’s having with the Facebook app on his stock T-Mobile G1. We both brushed it off because his connection was bouncing from 3G to EDGE and back again. This morning I noticed the same problems with my Facebook app over 3G or WiFi:
An error had occurred while fetching data. (null)
Apparently we’re not alone. Verizon recommended via Twitter that users having problems access Facebook via the browser instead:
“Reported that Android users are having issues with the Facebook application. Recommend using browser for now. #Verizon #Droid #Android”
No word whether or not this outage has anything to do with the recently announced Facebook SDK for Android.
The mobile version of Facebook can be reached by navigating to touch.facebook.com from your mobile device.
(Facebook did not return phone calls requesting an interview to discuss the problem at the time of this writing.)
