Pre Competitor to Come to AT&T Later This Year

Looks like the AT&T news is continuing. The Palm Pre will be getting a bit of competition on AT&T. While the Pre, with its new webOS interface will be getting a Sprint exclusive launch for a rumored six-month period, the Palm Eos will be coming to AT&T as a replacement for the Centro.

The main difference? The Pre features a QWERTY slider in portrait mode whereas the Eos is built as a super slim smartphone that has a built-in always accessible keyboard on the front of the device, like the Treos and Centros. According to Engadget Mobile, the device will have a 320 X 400 capacitive touchscreen, dual-band North American 3G frequency support and quad-band GSM radio, aGPS, and 4 GB of built-in storage memory.

It will cost $349 with an additional $50 mail-in rebate, which will presumably make it a bit more pricey than the Pre on Sprint, which is rumored to go for $300 with a $100 mail-in rebate bringing the cost down to $200.
