OQO made some awesome UMPC (ultra-mobile PC) devices–not netbooks, mind you–but the costs kept the gadgets at the upper echelon of corporate spending. It looks like the Atom update to the OQO will make things a bit snappier, a lot sexier, and a whole lot more affordable with the base model starting at $1000 (1.33 GHz) and $1500 for the faster 1.86 GHz processor (built-in cellular radios and everything else are extra).
